More Birthday Celebrations

I don’t even know where to begin. Life is crazy as usual, girls are getting molars now and we are back to not sleeping (all 4 of us), we have been celebrating birthdays like mad, we are starting to walk, love to climb, and we are getting bigger….I think that sums up our lives in one sentence!

On Friday afternoon both sets of Grandparents came to help Ari and Brynn celebrate their birthday. Then that evening my brother Bryan, his wife Karla, and their three kids: Megan, Madison, and Nick came from SD. All eight of those people stayed over night on Friday night. On Saturday around lunch time my sister Becky, her husband Jake and their sons: Trevor and Andrew arrived. They surprised us and also brought my sister, Laurie and her son Logan from ND! Laurie and Logan got on the train Friday evening and despite their train hitting a flaming vehicle arrived three hours late but safe and sound. Someone lite a pick-up on fire and left it on the tracks, thankfully no one was hurt. My brother Kirk and his wife Tammie and their kids: Hailey and Wyatt came. Our family/friends Jon, Holli and the four boys: Zach, Brady, Ben and Ryan and Chad and Jenny and their three girls: Paige, Lillie and Kenna all came too. We had quite a house full of kids/adults and lots of noise. All in all it went pretty well. The girls got WAY too many gifts and are officially spoiled rotten. Our Saturday overnight guests were only my sisters and families and my parents so manageable.

Sunday everyone left to go to Wyatt’s baptism in the cities. We decided we had been on the go too much and were beat, plus we had Johann’s sister Jen and her husband Matt and their kids: Connor and Miranda coming in the afternoon. It made for one busy weekend but it was wonderful to see everyone and for my girls to realize how special they are to so many people.

I mentioned that the girls are starting to really walk. They do quite well when they try. I think they realize how much faster they are crawling so that is still the preferred method of transportation, but they do stand up in the middle of the room on their own and often stand for long periods of time. Tonight Brynn had something in her mouth and as I went for her to get it out she took off full speed (crawling) running down the hallway. She is fast!!

Teething has been rough the past few days, Sunday night in particular. I think part of it was due to being over-tired from the weekend but Brynn screamed most of the night. I felt her gums and she has a molar just starting to poke through. We are hoping the rest aren’t as painful for her. I felt horrible but tried everything we could to help comfort her.

Climbing is our new past-time. Ari can officially climb on the couch herself. Sunday night Brynn realized she could climb on our end table herself. She struggled and finally figured it out. Once she got up she just sat there with the biggest proudest smile on her face. Once her sister saw what she did she had to follow suit. Ari was pretty quick to get up there beside her little sister, but just had to take it to the next level. Instead of sitting Ari stood up and wanted to climb higher onto the fireplace! This is going to be a lot of fun. Our day care told us Ari started trying to climb on things there today. She also likes to try to climb on the gate from our upstairs to our foyer, but can’t do much yet. Not sure how long it will be until she tried to climb out of bed. She is giving us a run for our money.
